Day 2, Sunday  we walked around Spokane and the river front park. We drove to Coeur d'Alene, saw Elvis entertaining. Farther down the road we visited one of the oldest Jesuit missions at Cataldo (named for the beloved priest), happened on a Handicrafts Fair while there and then headed for Missoula. At dinner in Missoula we spoke with a young lady from Queen Anne (our waitress) who was disillusioned with Missoula trying to be the "little city that could" but couldn't! She'd come for the summer but was heading back to Seattle in two weeks.

It was a push, but Lynn did get up earlier than usual for this the first morning on the road

The sound of water was very soothing.

There sure were a lot of bridges to explore in Spokane

Lynn was surprised at how many seagulls lived in Spokane. A very long way from the sea.

Yes folks, Craig did get a few moments to drive on this trip.

Our first state border crossing.

View from the Coeur d'Alene resort boardwalk. What a beautiful day

Elvis was entertaining a boat load of tourist.

Park information. Lynn was the master of seeking what to do and where to go.

Quite an interesting mission. Crude by some standards, but when you consider what the priest and local inidans had to work with, it is very impressive.

90+ year old internal combustion engine. I bet a horse might have been more reliable.

Out the back door of the mission was nature at it's most beautiful
