Day 15, Saturday,    A travel day from Colorado Springs to Grand Junction through the Rockies. The scenery changed fairly dramaticly as we traversed the state. The view at several points seemed to be forever. Independance Pass was particularly beautiful. The view was not only far but also steep. We will be writing to the Colorado tour board about putting in facilities at the top of the pass on that 60 mile portion of the trip through the Rockies. Makes it kind of tough to stop and appreciate all the beauty when your mind is on "other" things!! The fire in Mesa Verde is forcing us to alter our plans...that was one of the places we were REALLY looking forward to seeing. Just another reason to return for a visit...maybe in a cooler part of the year!!!! These 100 degree days are awful!
