7/ 23 /00 Day 16, Sunday, Headed to Arches Nat'l Park near Moab UT. Very interesting landscapes caused by the wind, rain, and cold. Realizing, of course, that for the most part things take thousand of years to change, it's hard to fathom how much they have changed. Plains becoming canyons, mesa, buttes, spires, and then sand!!! We did have a problem with the weather...107 (Moab) to 114 (in the park). We nearly drank out our reserves!! Stopped at a Brewery for dinner; thermostat behind Craig's head said it was 80 degrees inside...and it felt COOL!
