Should you need to get a hold of us, the following information should help:
PHONE:
Mobile phone when we are in port: Haven’t gotten yet a regular cellphone but we just established a “Skype” phone. Our Skype number is Maamalni. If you send us an e-mail or text message, we will return the call. Check Skype out at
www.skype.com. We have other voice options
BUT best to use email or text messaging as listed below.
E-MAIL:
For correspondence that we will pick up when we reach port and you MAY send with any type of attachment use:

For correspondence (up to several pages long) while we are sea which contain NO attachments (no photos, no files, no fancy signatures with logos, etc - text only. Change your mail format from HMTL to “Plain Text”) you may send to:

If you receive a message for this e-mail account, please DO NOT click reply which replicates the original message. Please send a new fresh message. The length of the entire message is very slowly transmitted by radio, so brevity is important. Please note that we will likely check this account once a day.
TEXT MESSAGING
You may send a short text message of 160 characters for free (for us) by going to www.iridium.com and then going to “Send a Satellite Message” (upper right corner). The phone number will already include “8816”. Then enter the remainder of our Satellite number 31612037. Be sure not to include any hyphens. You can send several messages in a row if you need to (maximum of 5). This is a quick way to reach us with a message.
MAIL:
Certain mail and packages will be forwarded to us on a monthly basis and may take as long as a month to reach us. In certain cases, new crew will be asked to bring a parcel of mail with them:
